Misdirection Fun (Book of Dirty Tricks style)

Aka: What you say? Hunters get friendly fire? Sweet!

Okay according to wowwiki: “When misdirection is active, ALL attacks that happen on a tick during which ANY attack happens, is Misdirected.”

This basically means you can misdirect more than 3 mobs to ..well… where ever… using an Explosive Trap. NB: only first burst is misdirected. Also using multishot last will make it count as only one of the misdirect points, the final one (rather than using all 3 misdirection points on the first shot.)

Okay sooo going beyond the basics & getting dirty with Misdirect:

  • Running a dungeon with someone who goes AFK? Cast misdirection on their butts and pop a couple of shots at something big … err best to do this with the consent of party members, a dismissed pet and feign up… just to be safe. Scout Report has a very funny take on this.
  • You really can set yourself ‘At War’ the Cenarion representative sitting at the base of the Orgrimmar flight tower. Here is a beautiful video that demonstrates using this as an effective deterrent for beggars… or for kicks with mates (I suppose that should be for kicks at a friend’s expense really.)

  • Doing some competitive farming for mobs? Pop misdirect and fire on three separate mobs to send em to your pet. Now they are all grey, and you are a right bastard for hogging all the loot.

& to wrap it up: Check out a good clean post over at Lienna’s Log to do with using Misdirection skillful like in a pulling situation.

Volley works with MD as well. If there is no pally tank in Magister’s Terrace I always volley the mana wyrms onto the tank (the mage usually dies anyways).

Oh thats nice! I always forget volley (its my biggest sin.)

  3. Excellent site, keep up the good work
