Kaliri, and Alliance, and Skettis – Oh MY god!

Aka alternative title: Where to NOT level your pet to 70 in the outlands!

Made the mistake of taking Cat to Skettis for my dailies.

We were clipped by Kaliri (lack of attention to my track beasts radar), only to fall and be surrounded by Surgers. Fighting the Surgers we back into Arakkoa and their stinky little bird pets and are beaten upon more. Finally the Ranger-Tree stomps Cat to death as I feign quietly on the shore and wait for the crowd to thin out so I can trap and heal and book-it to safety.

A hunter’s ability to hold and defeat three or more mobs easily has made me overconfident. I get lazy because “really” I think “the pet can hold two, and I can cube a third, and with my PVP gear on it doesn’t hurt to let that fourth whale on me until the pet is ready to pick him up. And if I time it well I can cube more than one.” … well kid I have news for you…not going to happen. No sir’ee, not with your pretty new level 30 pet!

All these tactics are rather useless with a pet that can’t hold aggro, can’t take a beating and can’t even hit the enemy, and Skettis isn’t the most kite-friendly environment.

So taking Cat to Skettis – a mistake.

Has anyone else noticed the increased PVP aggression out at Skettis? You don’t need the group to do the daily escort quest. You need that group to wipe out the alliance pally & druid combo that inevitably try to gank you so they can start the quest.
I am happy to say revenge was had. We took them off the map three times in retaliation for their cheap assed tactics. Three cheers for well geared hordies!

As for Cat?
Well I am thinking that the best zone to level cat in would have to be Zangarmarsh.

The wide open spaces of Zangarmarsh.
It’s a nice low level area where the mobs are green and quick kills.
I can collect strange spores for pet food.
I can collect a bunch of other stuff like glowcaps and plant parts etc which are all useful or can be sold.
The Alliance are low levels and fun to kill for kicks.

Zangarmarsh! That’s the place for Cat & I.
